Car Audio System

The audio system for the overall car audio was created in separate audio components. One for the car engine, four independent for tires and their friction to the road, exhaust, and the general body. All these created a cohesive and powerful sound that could change based on the category and type of car or tire etc. In this specific example, I had to create for the DLC content a new futuristic engine sound. Since the car was levitating the friction sfx had to change too as well as the exhaust sound had completely gone and added a flavor to the electric car. To conclude, the aesthetics of this car was a sport electric futuristic.

From an artistic perspective, user interface had to remind racing and sports cars. Clutch, cars pass-by, layered with button sounds created a unique and procedural structure within Metasounds.

Audio Optimization for different platforms

​Optimization for this project was straightforward by using best practices in my audio pipeline. Testing the RAM usage in-game, creating different audio settings and compression rates for different platforms, as well as applying concurrency settings, I created a sound that easily performed even on low platforms such as Nintendo Switch where the hardware has stressful limitations.
